About Aloha Pediatrics

We are so pleased that you have chosen Aloha Pediatrics for your child's healthcare! We accept all insurances (including Kaiser). Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Our Practice

Our practice is comprised of six of us: Dr. Knox (pediatrician), George (Practice Manager and Business Manager), Anna (Nurse Manager), Brandi (Nurse Practitioner), Brytney (Medical Assistant), and Novena (receptionist). We work together as a team to bring personal and quality care to your children. We all perform multiple functions in order to keep our office small and intimate. In this way, we are able to know all of our patients and their needs and to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere which helps make going to the doctor a more pleasant experience for both the patients and the parents. We are designated as a Patient Centered Medical Home by HMSA, and we work by the philosophy that we are responsible for the whole of your child's care and coordination of other services when needed.

Our Staff

Jami Knox, M.D.
Dr. Knox was born and raised in Michigan. She attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, where she received her M.D. degree in 1997. After completing her residency in pediatrics in 2000, she practiced at the university and worked as an associate professor of pediatrics for 2 years before going on to open a private practice. She moved to Kauai in 2009 and practiced on the West Side until December of 2014 when she opened Aloha Pediatrics. She enjoys hiking, fishing, chilling in the ocean, and spending time with family.

George Knox, M.D.
George is Dr. Knox's husband and business partner. He was born and raised in Tennessee. He practiced internal medicine for a few years and then emergency room medicine for nearly 20 years. He is now "retired" and is working as Dr. Knox's office and business manager, trying out the administrative side of medicine. He is also a writer and has published 2 science fiction books. In his free time he enjoys writing, running, hiking, and spending time with family.

Office Hours and After Hours

We do have set office hours:
Monday and Tuesday - 9 AM to 6 PM,
Wednesday - 9 AM to Noon,
Thur and Fri - 9 AM to 5 PM

but we have the ability to be flexible. Same day appointments are available (because nobody schedules an illness). We carry a practice cell phone always so even if we are not in the office we can still help you. Please always call us before going to urgent care or the emergency room (unless it is clearly an emergency). We may be able to help you stay out of urgent care or ER, which is much better for continuity of care.

Dr. Knox shares after hours call with other local pediatricians so there may be times when you will encounter another provider after hours. You are al-ways welcome to call our office cell phone first at 652-0048. If Dr. Knox is not available, you may call the physician exchange at: 245-1831 as you will be directed by the voicemail greeting.

Your Medical Records

We use an electronic medical record which helps to stream-line patient care and provides us the ability to use technology to better care for your child. As a part of this, we have a patient portal which you can register for either in our office in the patient portal itself.

On the portal you can schedule or cancel appointments, communicate with Dr. Knox and office staff, see the summary of your visits, and request prescription refills. We encourage our parents to take advantage of this technology. Additionally, you will receive visit reminder calls from an automated service. Using this service helps free us up to focus on patients in the office.
